A red counterpart to the 1965 original, Rosso keeps the same spicy bitterness and lays blood orange over the top. The colour is bright red with reflections of pomegranate, and the nose runs citrusy and spiced before the palate delivers fresh blood orange against that familiar bitter backbone. It is built the way the classic Crodino is built, which means a blend of herbs, spices and roots left to infuse for up to six months, then finished sparkling with no alcohol in it at all. Campari Group has owned the brand since 1995 and kept the process intact. Pour it over plenty of ice in a wine goblet, add a slice of orange, and top with soda if you want more lift. It stands in for a spritz at aperitivo hour and holds up next to olives, salty snacks and cured meat. Bottled at 10cl and 17cl.
