Limoncello lives or dies on the lemon. Pallini uses hand-picked Sfusato lemons from the Costa d'Amalfi, the PGI-protected fruit behind its full-strength bottle, so this isn't a new brand chasing a trend. The house has been making liqueurs in Italy since 1875, and Limonzero is that lineage with the alcohol left out. What reaches the glass is intense lemon zest and essential oil on the nose, then a palate that runs sweet, bitter and sour in roughly equal measure before finishing clean on soft lemon peel. There are no artificial colors, fragrances or flavorings in it, and it's gluten free and vegan at 0% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Serve it very cold over ice the way you would the real thing, or stretch it one part to two with tonic. It also builds well into spritzes and long drinks, and sits happily next to seafood or dessert.
