This is a Russ, the Bavarian mix of wheat beer and lemonade, made without any alcohol in it at all. Paulaner starts from its Weissbier 0.0% and blends in a natural lemon soda, so the citrus is not a flavouring dropped into finished beer but a second drink stirred through it. What comes out reads lighter and sweeter than the straight 0.0%, with fine lemon sitting over the fruity wheat aromas underneath, a bit of tartness behind that, and plenty of carbonation. The ingredients are all natural and the alcohol is a genuine 0.0% rather than a rounded-down 0.5%. Practically, this is the summer afternoon and after-a-long-ride option rather than something to serve with dinner. Drink it very cold, straight out of the fridge, in a big glass. Anyone who finds full wheat beer too heavy or too yeasty tends to get along with this one immediately.
