Every margarita, cosmopolitan and sidecar leans on an orange liqueur, and that is the gap this bottle fills. It is Lyre's stand-in for triple sec, built to bring citrus lift to a cocktail rather than to be poured on its own. The bouquet runs to sweet and bitter orange with fresh zest, a little marmalade, and hints of jaffa and mint, finishing soft and aromatic. Lyre's works from natural essences and extracts rather than dealcoholized wine, which is why the label is short. Water, sugar, natural flavors, citric acid and ascorbic acid. Under 0.2% ABV, 17 calories and 4.2g of sugar in a one ounce pour, sold in a 700ml bottle. Use it wherever you would reach for Cointreau, and expect to pull back the sweetener elsewhere, since there is no alcoholic bite to balance it.
