Bianco

Vermouth is wine plus botanicals plus fortification, which makes a zero proof version harder than it looks. Most brands quietly drop the wine part. Roots does not, and bills this as the only wine-based zero proof vermouth on the market. The name is literal, di vino. Bianco is the fresh, sour end of the range, built on rosemary, thyme and wormwood with handpicked Mediterranean herbs behind them, and it is the wormwood that earns the vermouth label rather than borrowing it. Two brothers started Roots on the Greek island of Lesbos in 2013, working out of what the family calls the oldest distillery in Greece with roughly 150 years of distilling behind it. The 700ml bottle is 0% ABV and about 25 calories a serve. It took Best in Show Non-Alcoholic Spirit at WSWA in 2024. Pour it over ice with tonic and a slice of lemon.
