Rhubarb Alcohol-Free Wine Alternative

Cairn o' Mohr is a fruit winery in the Carse of Gowrie, a stretch of Perthshire farmland where the berries and orchard fruit are good enough that the family behind it built an entire business on picking locally. This comes from their Braes o' Gowrie non-alcoholic line, a 75cl bottle at 0 percent. Rhubarb carries it, sharp and juicy, with locally foraged sweet cicely taking the hard edge off the sourness and mint and root ginger lifting the finish. It is a sparkling soft drink rather than a dealcoholized wine, which is worth knowing going in, though the bottle format and the dryness are why people reach for it in place of one. Serve it chilled with a sprig of mint, on its own or as a mixer.
