Wonderazul

The base is a distillate made from blue agave, which is the part that matters. Rather than flavouring a neutral liquid, Siegfried starts from the same plant Mexico starts from, then layers other botanicals on top to get closer to the profile people recognise. Agave, salt and smoke are the three notes the distillery leads with. It took a gold medal at the Global No and Low Masters in 2024, which counts for something in a category with a lot of noise in it. This is a mixing bottle rather than a sipping one. Margaritas and palomas are the obvious builds, and because the salt and smoke are already in the liquid you need less work at the rim and none in the shaker. Around 4 calories per 100ml, vegan and gluten-free.
