Spirits of Virtue uses Deeside water across everything it makes, drawn high in the Cairngorm Mountains near Balmoral Castle and running through highland glens and royal estate land on its way to the Scottish coast. The Original is the neutral expression, clean and crisp, made in small batches and built to sit underneath a mixer the way a vodka base should rather than announcing itself. The producer describes the range as versatile, elegant and subtly complex, and restraint is the whole point here.
