A Jaffa is the old-school Australian lolly, an orange shell over dark chocolate, and ALTD built an entire aperitif around that flavour memory. Golden Emperor leans on bush orange and blood orange for the zest, wattleseed for its roasted coffee and raisin character, and dark-roasted cocoa husk grown in the Daintree in Far North Queensland. Red gum bark supplies the bitter backbone. Botanicals are copper distilled and the native extracts are made by hand at the company's Marrickville base in Sydney's inner west. Think of it as the Australian answer to a bitter orange Italian aperitivo, and use it the same way. Pour 50ml over ice, top with a crisp Prosecco for a spritz, or build an Altered Negroni. Nothing artificial goes in, and it lands vegan, sugar free, gluten free and calorie free. ALTD was named AF Producer of the Year at the New York International Spirits Competition.
