LumRum

Rum without the rum is a hard trick, and Lumette gets close by leaning on wood and spice rather than sweetness. Caramel, vanilla and charred wood come through with warming spice behind them, which is enough structure to survive a dark and stormy or a daiquiri instead of dissolving into the mixer. It is distilled on Vancouver Island by the team behind Sheringham Distillery, winner of World's Best Contemporary Gin at the 2019 World Gin Awards, using the same approach they would take with a full-strength spirit. Botanicals and local water go into a still, and a proprietary process finishes the job. No imitation flavouring is involved, so whatever color sits in the bottle comes from the botanical oils themselves. There is no detectable alcohol in it, and it is certified gluten free. Pour it with cola, ginger beer, lime or coconut water.
