Same house, same process, different colour. Henkell has been making Sekt in Wiesbaden since Adam Henkell founded the business in 1856 after training in champagne production in France, and today it is Germany's biggest sparkling wine exporter. This rosé takes grapes from traditional wine regions, ferments them normally, then removes the alcohol gently enough to leave the fruit intact. It pours light rosé with raspberry toned reflexes. Red berries lead the nose with a touch of vanilla underneath, and the palate is fruity and fresh with a finish that runs longer than most zero proof bottles manage, all of it carried on a lively bead. Natural cork closure. The practical case for this over the white version is the room rather than the taste. A pink sparkling glass reads as celebratory on sight. Serve it properly cold.
