Pinot Grigio is the easy answer in the alcohol free aisle for a reason. It is light, unfussy and does not depend on oak or weight to be enjoyable, which makes it one of the more forgiving grapes to dealcoholize. This one comes from Einig Zenzen, the Mosel family firm behind the Dr. Zenzen label. The house ferments its wines fully, then removes the alcohol, keeping the typical Pinot Grigio profile of crisp acidity and light orchard fruit. There is nothing showy about it, and that is the point. It is the bottle you open on a weeknight or hand to someone who is not drinking. The company has grown wine in the Mosel valley since 1636, registered as a merchant in Valwig in 1939, and now ships to more than eighty countries. Serve it cold, with fish, salads or nothing at all.
