Aperitifs are where non-alcoholic ranges usually get lazy, reaching for sugar and a bitter flavouring. GUUBII takes a different route. The base is de-alcoholised Riesling, 95% of the bottle, blended with 5% of a vinegar creation and then refined with ginger, lime and selected herbs. It pours light golden yellow with a fine perlage, and the palate is tangy and light bodied, fresh with a delicate spiciness running underneath. It took a gold medal at the 2024 International Non-Alcohol Competition in New York. There are no artificial flavours in it, sugar sits around 65g per litre, and the bottle is 0.0% by volume. Serve it at 6 to 8C, neat or over ice, next to fish, seafood, pasta or sushi. It handles tapas, Asian starters and summer salads just as well. Made in Germany, 750ml, contains sulfites.
