Coastal Cape vineyards give this one the nerve it needs. The nose leads with white peach and green pineapple, then the palate turns sharper into grapefruit and lime, all of it strung along racy acidity that keeps the wine thirst-quenching rather than flat, which is the usual failure mode when alcohol comes out of a white. It pours light straw with a green tint. Misty Cliffs is the work of Jason Stanley, who spent two decades in the wine trade and grew up in Hermanus on the South African coast before deciding the alcohol-free aisle deserved better than grape juice with pretensions. The wine carries no artificial flavoring and runs 15 calories per 150ml serving, roughly 80 percent less than a standard glass. Pour it cold alongside seafood, green salads, goat cheese, or anything with chili heat in it.
