The colour is the first tell, a deep saturated salmon rather than the pale pink most zero-proof rosés land on. Syrah is the grape behind that. The nose leans cooked rather than fresh, baked apple and jammy raspberry instead of the crisp berry note you might expect, and that carries into a soft, almost lactic attack with a delicate bubble. Baked apple and cuberdon, the Belgian caramelised sweet, come back on the finish. Vintense pitches Prestige as its dress-up range and markets this bottle as a champagne-style alternative, though the house's own tasting note puts it nearer a Crémant rosé. Alcohol is removed by vacuum distillation at 25 to 30°C so the aromatics survive. In Belgium it's reserved for the hospitality trade and wine merchants. Pour it at 8 to 10°C as an apéritif, with lightly cooked salmon, or next to a raspberry charlotte. 13 calories per 100ml, vegan and gluten free.
