Grapefruit and a green, herbaceous edge are what people want from a Sauvignon Blanc, and both turn up. Vintense's Cépage bottling pours pale yellow with green highlights and opens lemony, with pink grapefruit behind it. The attack is supple, then fresh lemon and elderflower carry through to a finish that leans sweet rather than bone dry, which is the honest trade-off in most alcohol-free whites. The Belgian house makes it in Spain and offers it as an alternative to a lively, fruity white with real character. It wants to be very cold, between 6 and 8 degrees. The producer's own pairings are the easy ones: aperitif hour, hummus, tomato and mozzarella. Genuinely 0.0%, vegan, gluten free and suitable during pregnancy, at about 16 calories per 100ml in a 75cl bottle.
