This one sits awkwardly between categories, which is the interesting part. It's built on Pinot Meunier and Spätburgunder, both red grapes, but it gets poured from a rosé glass at 8 to 12°C and drinks slim rather than heavy. Perry pear from the Swabian orchards fills in behind the wine. The Gault & Millau Henris Edition panel rated it Hervorragend in March 2024 and described mallow tea, liquorice, anise, amarena cherry and marzipan, with fruit, acid and dark spice in balance. On the label, 33 is the temperature in degrees at which the base wine was dealcoholized under vacuum, which is how the whole range gets its names. The tannins are fine rather than grippy. Serve it with antipasti, cheese, or food spiced along Middle Eastern lines. Under 0.5% alcohol, 14.9 calories per 100ml.
