Moscato Zero

Brown Brothers Moscato is one of the most recognised wines in Australia, so making a zero alcohol version was less about invention than about not wrecking it. The approach was to keep making wine. Grapes are fermented as normal and the alcohol is then removed with spinning cone technology, which is why Brown Brothers still calls this a wine rather than a substitute. Lifted citrus, sherbet and freshly cut grape aromas come through, and the palate is mildly fizzy and easy to drink at under 0.5 percent alcohol. The family has been making wine in the King Valley in Victoria since 1889. Treat it like the original at the table, so soft cheeses with crunchy baguette, fresh fruit, and spicy Asian dishes where a little sweetness helps.
