Spice is where this rosé earns its keep. Vintense makes it from Syrah in Spain, and it pours a medium rose petal shade with a discreet, elegant nose of raspberry and wild strawberry. The attack is soft with sweetness leading, and wild berries and blueberry return through the finish. That sweetness explains why the producer's pairing notes run toward heat rather than salad. Lebanese mezze, Indian cooking, a chicken tagine with raisins and red fruit desserts all work, because a little residual sugar handles chilli far better than acidity does. Serve it between 8 and 10 degrees. Like the rest of the range it's a real 0.0% rather than a low-alcohol wine, and it's vegan, gluten free and safe during pregnancy, at around 18 calories per 100ml. Sold in 75cl.
