Carl Jung blends this one from several EU wines rather than bottling a single variety, and that is the point. The parts cover for each other, so the result lands in the middle and pours easily alongside almost any meal. Expect harmonious acidity, discreet fruit, and hints of melon and grapefruit over a soft texture that keeps it round instead of tart. The alcohol is removed after normal vinification, using the process the family patented in Rüdesheim over a hundred years ago. The house now makes nothing but alcohol removed wine, more than ten million bottles a year, sold in over thirty countries from its base at Schloss Boosenburg in the Rheingau. Serve it at 6 to 8 degrees Celsius. About 24 calories per 100ml glass, a fraction of what the alcoholic equivalent costs you.
