Fumé is the older name for Sauvignon Blanc handled with oak and lees rather than bottled straight and bracing, and Edenvale reckons this is the only alcohol free version of it made in Australia. The fruit comes from Marlborough in New Zealand. Lychee and kiwi arrive first with a floral lift, then green capsicum, hazelnut and roasted coffee give it weight that most alcohol free whites never reach. The palate is creamy and dry with a nutty finish. There is no added sugar or sweetener, so whatever sweetness exists came from the grapes. Alcohol sits below 0.5 percent, which is zero standard drinks, and the wine is vegan. Serve it at 7 to 10 degrees alongside kingfish sashimi, crispy pork belly, roast chicken with garlic and lemon, or goat's cheese with walnuts.
