Pinot Gris and Pinot Grigio are the same grape treated differently, with the Gris style chasing texture and weight rather than lean crispness. Edenvale goes that direction here. Ripe stone fruit, poached pear and apricot fill the palate, and there is a soft, slightly oily feel that Gris drinkers look for. Texture is the hard part once alcohol is removed, since alcohol carries a lot of a wine's body, so getting that hallmark Gris weight into an alcohol free bottle is the trick worth noticing. The fruit is selected from South Eastern Australia and the wine finishes under 0.5 percent, which is zero standard drinks. It is genuinely flexible with food, sitting well with tapas, pasta and salads, and doing a good job beside white meat and most fish.
