The colour here is real, not added. Red grape berries get brief skin contact during production, which is where the pink comes from, and the wine is then dealcoholised and carbonated. Base wine is Spanish. What lands in the glass is raspberry and strawberry fruit over harmonious acidity, with just enough tannin to give the wine some structure instead of leaving it flat and sweet. Carl Jung positions it for summer parties and weddings, and it tends to be the bottle poured for guests who are not drinking, because a pink sparkling glass does not announce itself across a room. Chill to 6 to 8 degrees Celsius. About 28 calories per 100ml glass, the richest of the three mousseux, which tracks with the extra fruit. Same family process, patented in Rüdesheim more than a hundred years ago.
